Use of Cookies

  1. What are cookies

A cookie is a small file comprising letters and numbers that will be stored on the user’s computer, mobile terminal, or other equipment that accesses the internet. The cookie is installed through the request from the web server of a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome) and is entirely “passive” (doesn’t contain software, viruses, or spyware, and cannot access information on the user’s hard drive).

Cookies set by the website’s operator are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the web site’s operator are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies allow the third party’s functions and functionalities to be provided on or through the site (e.g. statistics collection, advertisement, interactive media content, and analysis). The parties who have set these third party cookies can recognize the computer both when it visits that particular site and when it visits certain other websites and/or mobile apps.

  1. Why do we use cookies

Cookies ensure a pleasant navigation experience for the users and support the efforts made by https://coralinachiriac.com/ to offer to the users comfortable services, e.g. preferences about online confidentiality and relevant ads (e.g. Google, Facebook). They are also used for preparing aggregate anonymous statistics that allow us to understand how a user benefits from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and contents, excluding personal identification of the user.

How are cookies used by this site?

When you visit the site, the following types of cookies may be used:

  • Cookies for the performance and security of the site
  • Cookies for analysis of visitors
  • Cookies for registration
  • Cookies for advertisement
  • Cookies for advertisement providers.

Examples of the utility of cookies – authentication on the site is not needed:

  • Content and services adjusted to the user’s preferences – categories of products and services
  • Offers adjusted to the users’ interests
  • Saving authentication details (user name and password)
  • Saving child protection filters regarding internet content (family mode options, safe search functions)
  • Limiting the frequency of ad broadcasting – limiting the number of times an ad is posted for a certain user of a site
  • Providing advertisement that is relevant for the user
  • Measurement, optimization, and analytical characteristics – such as confirmation of a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is visualized and how does a user reach a website (e.g. via search engines; directly; from other websites etc.). Websites run this analysis of their use in order to improve their contents for the user’s benefit.
  1. What types of cookies we use

We use two types of cookies: per session, and fixed. The cookies per session are temporary files that remain in the user’s terminal until the end of the session or until the application (web browser) is closed, while fixed cookies remain in the user’s terminal for a time that is set in the cookie’s parameters or until manually erased by the user. We use first-party cookies, which are essential and necessary for processing commands, as well as third-party cookies for collecting statistics, advertisement, interactive media content, and analysis. Third-party cookies consist of services by Google and Facebook. You have the right to decide whether you want to accept or reject cookies. You can express your preference about cookies on our site. The third-party cookies are represented by Google and Facebook services and newsletter services.

Information about how you can control the cookies used on this site is presented below.

  1. Browser controls: You can set or change your web browser’s controls so as to accept or reject cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you can continue to use the website and/or services, although your access to certain functions and areas of the site may be restricted. Because the means for rejecting cookies through your web browser’s controls vary between browsers, you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information.
  2. Deactivation of interest-based ads: Most advertisement networks offer a way to opt out of ads based on interest categories. If you want more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com. On these websites you can choose what company can send you ads – in the case of our store, Facebook and Google.
  3. Mobile advertisement: You can opt out of the use of your mobile advertisement identifiers for certain types of advertisement based on interest categories, including ours, by accessing your Apple or Android smartphone and following the most recent instructions published. If you opt out, we will discard all data about you, and no data collection or follow-up will occur. The random identifier previously assigned to it by us (or by our third party partners) will also be discarded. This means that if you decide at a later stage to sign up, there will be no data correlation of the same user and you will be, for all practical purposes, a new user in our system.
  4. Some internet browsers – such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari – include the ability to send “Do not track” or DNT signals. Because consistent standards for DNT signals haven’t been adopted, our site doesn’t currently process or respond to DNT signals in a standardized way.
  5. You can use cookie blocker plug-ins compatible with the browsers you use: UBlock, Ghostery, AdBlock, Privacy Badger.

Thank You!
